Ahh...near the end of the semester
Well, its near the end of the semester here, YIKES! I have a term paper to cook up about Durkheim & deviance. Hmm... the father of sociology thought deviance was actually necessary for society to function...so according to Durkheim the rules ARE meant to be broken. Chew on that for a while.
By the way, I think i have a distinct perspective on socilogy as a person with PDD-NOS. By definition, people with my disability tend to not pick up on social niceties and social rules. The average sociolgy student might take the social rules for granted and think they are hardly worth studying, whereas I don't take them for granted and find them VERY fascinating to study. There's an idea...all you High functioning autistic/pdd-nos/aspergers syndrome people who want to go to college, and don't know what to major in, give sociology a try!
